The project
Classroom wings and a courtyard that give a growing private school a centre it did not have before.
Tri-City had grown building by building. The work here was to give the campus a middle — a paved court with covered walks that connects the classroom wings and finally gives students somewhere to be between periods.
Brick, metal canopies and simple punched openings keep the new wings consistent with the existing buildings while giving the courtyard a clearer, more contemporary edge.
Design notes
Courtyard
An outdoor room that ties separate wings into one campus.
Walks
Covered circulation so students move between buildings out of the weather.
Continuity
New massing answers the existing brick buildings rather than competing.
