The project
A restored neighbourhood theater for Piedmont Players — designed under LEED Silver guidelines, with a marquee that still does its job on the street.
The Norvell is the kind of building a town uses to measure itself. Our work kept the street presence intact — marquee, glazed lobby, warm light on the pavement — while rebuilding the auditorium and support spaces behind it for a working season of productions.
The project was designed under LEED Silver guidelines, which on a historic theater mostly means restraint: keeping the existing shell, specifying materials that can be maintained locally, and improving what could be improved without erasing the original building.
