The Harborside Club

In Morehead City the building has to survive salt, wind-driven rain and a long humid season while still feeling like somewhere you want to sit in the evening. Board-and-batten, standing-seam roofs and deep covered porches do most of that work.

The plan puts the porch first. Dining and bar open directly onto it, so the club has a usable outdoor room for most of the year rather than a decorative verandah.
